Great North Run 13th September 2026

Once again runners travelled from all over the UK to support Max Appeal and take part in the Great North Run, the world’s largest half-marathon, which celebrated its 45th year with 63,000 runners taking part. This continues to be our most successful single fundraising event of the year. 35 runners completed the course, so far raising over £16,000 which is a phenomenal effort. It was great to meet with so many of you before and after the race to thank you for the efforts and support. Our first male runner over the line was Jack Tilley in an impressive time of 1:34:09, closely followed by David Salmon in 1:37:05, our first female runner to complete the course was Holly Chelsea in 1:49:10. Here’s hoping for another bumper turnout on 12th September 2027.

But ultimately, every single runner is a winner for Max Appeal. Your commitment, fundraising and support are what make events like this so special.
