22q11 European Conference in Brussels – presentations
Julie, Chair of Max Appeal, attended the 22q11.2 specialty conference in November 2025. As well as sharing information with clinicians and academics, Julie was able to meet with a number of Max Appeal family members who were in attendance too and spend time talking through their experiences. The 22q11.2 Europe international group also met, which is comprised of 'member-led' organisations from across the globe, all working together to share best practice and knowledge in the field of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome
On November 22 and 23, 2025, the European 22q11 conference took place in Brussels
The European 22q11 Conference is a truly unique event, bringing together more than 300 participants — patients, families, and leading experts — in an open, supportive, and informative environment
It was a valuable opportunity to meet healthcare professionals, listen to insightful speakers, and learn from experts who presented their research and discussed key topics related to the syndrome
Mental health, sleep, orthopedics, scoliosis, siblings, family dynamics, diagnosis, professional inclusion — many essential themes were explored, offering everyone the chance to discover new research and engage in meaningful discussions.
