Claire’s Retirement News

30th June will be Claire Hennesseys last day working for Max Appeal due to her well earned retirement.

Claire has been an integral part of the machinery of Max Appeal for a number of years and so this will sadly be the end of an era.

I know that she has helped countless members over the years both directly and indirectly, if you have ever phoned the Max Appeal helpline for instance it was probably Claire that you spoke to, if you’ve ever attended a youth camp etc it was Claire that organised them, if you’ve ever read the consensus document it has Claire’s involvement etc

On a personal level I want to express the sincere thanks of the Tripp family, without Claire I don’t know where we would be, 10 years ago on the day Adam was diagnosed we found a helpline on Google and as a very upset and worried dad I made a call, it was Claire who I spoke to and she gave me my first ever insight into the world of 22q11, as she spoke she gave us as a family the focus and hope for the future which we do desperately needed, she subsequently went on to make trips of many hours to support us with EHCP meetings and helped turn around our lives, without her involvement our son would have stayed languishing in mainstream and we can’t ever repay that debt.

From those early days of seeing Claire in action I was encouraged by her tenacity to make a difference and this is one of the events that eventually led me to become a Max Appeal trustee, as a trustee her support and knowledge has been invaluable and I would like to publicly pass on my thanks for the support and encouragement that you have given me in my role Claire.

We owe you a massive debt of gratitude Claire, one that I can probably never repay if I’m honest because we owe you too much.

Please feel free to add your comments below and join with me in wishing Claire a long and hopefully healthy retirement.

Mark Tripp
