A team effort!

KieranRuss and Gary step up to challenge in 2012.

Russ writes....

Kieran was born in 2003, diagnosed with a cleft palate and following genetic testing was diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome in 2004. His main medical issues
revolve around his immune system, cleft palate and VPI.

In respect to his development, he is delayed in most areas however, he attends a mainstream school where he receives a high level of extra support. He is a very talkative, social and outgoing little boy. He enjoys reading and playing on his Xbox when he`s not
terrorising his pet dog, Jack. He needs constantly reminding to do things and every day we have the same conversations over and over again.

Kieran is a special little boy who never fails to surprise us.

Your support and donations helps many special children like Kieran.

Please help Russ and Gary meet their target and visit their fundraising page on the link below;

A stroll in the park of something more demanding......

Virgin London MarathonSigning up for a sponsored toddle, walk or run are all excellent ways to support Max Appeal.

Ed Coppinger and his friends Martin and Mark are giving this year's London Marathon a go.

Ed writes...

Ed Coppinger, London Marathon 2012'As I turned 40 last year I decided that I wanted to enter the London Marathon.

From an early time in my life I have always seen it as an iconic challenge and respected anybody who has attempted it, finished it, or even trained for it! My training has already shown that as you increase distance pain increases at an alarming rate. So I need to look for inspiration.....

I've generally found in all forms of sport, you need to find inspiration to put yourself through the rigours of training. Inspiration comes in many forms. Being the best you can be, losing weight, beating your PB, beating your mates. All these things can give you that extra motivation to make you get up and exercise.

Once I had decided to enter the London Marathon I always knew that I was going to commit to raising money for a charity. Knowing this, I decided to search for a charity that this adventure would make a tangible difference for, rewarding my efforts and the people that were kind enough to support me. Through a friend I found out about Max Appeal, and having a young family I was touched by the work that they do, their dedication and the real difference they make to families they support.

Over the next few months I will be raising money for Max Appeal by working with the CSR Team in Hams Hall and holding a series of events. This will include a quiz night, charity auction, raffle, dress down days and lots more. The support of my colleagues in Tradeteam is greatly appreciated!'

Good luck to all our runners and thanks to all their family, friends and colleagues for their support.

Russ and Gary's Skydive for Max Appeal

Russ and Gary made it! 2012There maybe be easier ways to get a special Max Appeal T shirt, but well done to Russ and Gary who both completed their skydive for Max Appeal.

Both of them have now got the bug!

Russ writes... 'Gary and myself are new converts now with Gary considering doing another tandem jump in the future. For me it was a fantastic experience and I now want to go on and achieve a solo jump myself as I found it such an incredible feeling jumping out of a plane at 12000 feet and freefalling at 120mph.'

Loads of thanks for their efforts and for all the money they have raised for Max Appeal.

Good luck for any future jumps!
